Benefit:

The gemologist may choose to target an item held or worn by their opponent with their refraction. The gemologist makes a combat maneuver check against the target's CMC using their Wisdom modifier in place of their Strength modifier when calculating their OCM bonus. If the attack is successful, the item takes the refraction damage that exceeds its hardness. If the damage dealt would leave the item with less than 0 hit points, the gemologist may choose to destroy the object. If the gemologist chooses not to destroy the item, it is left with 1 hit point and the broken condition.
