1.01.1 Here we go

Location: Corenthal
Date: 1st of Gathaksis, 1349 (5)

Danilor is taken by Wizard named Josan to a horse show at the Corenthal arena.

Shiela is aquainted with Danilor. She is working as an architecture aprentice for Pijyr who owns a local contruction company, a job she received through Josan.

Prior Pyth hired Pijyr to conduct renovations to a grange. Sheila is sent to finalize the plans specific for the site.

Brother Thogo finds the door to the stables ajar and finds something unexpected within…

Rylan arrives in Corenthal port, wanders into the market where a slave auction is taking place. Farrugh and naked half orcs are for sale, Dagobras the red haired orc is among those for sale.

Dagobras is sold to Rylan, but is not castrated… yet.

Rylan learns upon visiting the cathedral that there has been a murder at the grange a brother named Hugh. He and his recent purchase make haste to the grange. Danilor arrives shortly after and negotiates a price for conducting the investigation 100 gp + 25 per day, cap of 400 gp. Party visit a thorp nearby the grange and find that Khy was there recently, Rylan interviewed an old lady who had been healed by Khy, and made her cry!

One of the lay brothers who had been in the grange was interviewed next, he stated that brother hugh had not come back yet when Rendol and the boys left the grange. they had visited the grange and ate cheese, bread, and mead, all items missing from the murder scene. They thereafter swept up at the request of brother Landem. (the cleaning seems to have taken place before the murder.)

It appears that Rendol went to the thorp after the party at the grange.

This is what happened
Yes, hear what I say
I’ll tell you the story
What took place that day

The names may be changed
And the places be wrong
But the actual facts
I’ll get right all along

The four of us, together were
Charged with solving a foul murder
Sheila was there, a crafty gnome
And Atrimis, Elf far from home
Rylan, too, came quite a way
For Dagobras he had to pay
The Orc was in the Human’s care
Indeed, a must unlikely pair

This is what happened
Yes, hear what I say
I’ll tell you the story
What took place that day

It had all started at the grange
Gone to survey, found something strange
The gnome had found the body first
And her suspicions were the worst
She sent for Pryor Pith and then
She sent to find her Elven friend
Our crew first gathered on that day
And from there we went on our way

The names may be changed
And the places be wrong
But the actual facts
I’ll get right all along

The murder scene had been well cleaned
But there were a few clues we gleaned
Some bread, some ale, a wheel of cheese
The store room was missing all these
The tracks lead to the Thorpe or North
So to the Thorpe we headed forth
We hear tales of noble Rendell
And further tales a cow would tell
This is what happened
Yes, hear what I say
I’ll tell you the story
What took place that day

We heard stories of something strange
Another brother at the grange
Was there when thieves had killed and fed
And no-one knows to where he fled
The talking cow gives us a clue
A path where something had gone through
Into the forest where it led
We found some boar, and soon were fed

The names may be changed
And the places be wrong
But the actual facts
I’ll get right all along

A coal-burner we then befriend
When our trail comes up to an end
We make our way back to the town
And search the barn beside the cow
We find some blood over the hay
And now know where killers stay
We go back to where we started
To follow tracks that North had led

This is what happened
Yes, hear what I say
I’ll tell you the story
What took place that day

We walk right into the Rendell
Who picks a fight where horses fell
His quartet we quickly defeat
And we accuse of stealing meat
And then at last we learn from them
The killer is brother Landem
He was provoked, you can be sure
But nothing excuses murder

The names may be changed
And the places be wrong
But the actual facts
I’ll get right all along

We find a shovel, that’s a clue
There’s blood upon the spade part, too
We track Landem through the forest
He’s tricky but our guide’s the best
Retracing paths we had gone through
One charcoal pile had become two
We open up one charcoal pile
Landem had been there all the while

This is what happened
Yes, hear what I say
I’ll tell you the story
What took place that day

Landem will go before the court
Through many thoughts he has to sort
The four of us as friends will stay
Who knows what fun may come our way
That’s what happened, I’m glad to say
The story that took place that day
The names and places may be wrong
But the actual facts, they were right all along.
